SignaLink

My SignaLink doesn't get as much use now that my Icom radio has a built in USB sound card, but I still carry it with my Xiegu G90 on the road.  This info is from when I was still using it at my primary station.

Switch Box - Connecting Multiple Radios

I love my SignaLink, but I didn't want to spend the money on a second one just for my other radio.  I needed a way to switch between my Anytone and my Xiegu without unplugging a bunch of cables every time I wanted to switch.

The best solution I could come up with was this.  An A/B RJ45 rotary switch box.  The SignaLink uses an RJ45 connection out to the radio, and these little switch boxes switch all 8 wires and don't care what you are sending across them.  If your radios both use just the RJ45, you're done here.  This switch works like a charm.  If, however, you need to use the audio input like I did for my Anytone, there is one more step.  I added a single double pole double throw toggle switch to the front of the switch box and two 3.5mm mono jacks on the back to connect and disconnect both lines of the audio cable.  This way, I am able to keep the audio cable plugged in to both the Anytone radio and the Signalink and just turn it on and off with the toggle switch.

I love these little switches so much that I bought a second so that I could use it to switch between the SignaLink and the original hand mic on my Anytone radio.
